A Spot For Tea

John 15:11 "that My joy and delight may be in you and that your joy
and gladness may be of full measure and complete."

If God brings you to it,
He will bring you through it.

The above is a paraphrase of 1 Thessalonians 5:24 which states in the New International Version, "The One who calls you is faithful and He will do it."  The New King James Version states "He will also do it."  The New Century Version says "You can trust the One who calls you to do that for you." Strength and confidence can be drawn from this promise in scripture by anyone looking for assurance while walking in their calling.

I don't know where I originally found the above wording, however I instantly applied it to this scripture.  It had been a constant reminder to me that I am not walking alone.  There is assistance for me, although I must be willing to relenquish my self will.  I must also be willing to listen for the wisdom and guidance of the Holy Spirit and follow it.

The Amplified Version states "Faithful is He who is call you (to Himself) and utterly trustworthy, and He will also do it (fulfill His call by hallowing and keeping you). Yes, God is faithful, far above any degree of faithfulness that is within the human understanding.  He can be trusted for He will do what He says He will do.  For God cannot and does not lie.  When He calls you or me to a task He also will see that we are equipped to do it.  This equipping may not be apparent at the time (in our eyes) however, inhindsight we will see His Hand in this preparation.

As God calls an individual to complete a task He is essentially saying "Will you do this fo Me, with Me?  Will you be willing to give to give Me the honor and glory for what is accomplished?" An affirmative answer has come as an act of submission.  To be willing to lean on the inspiration of the Holy Spirit says, "I trust you Lord and I will be obedient."  He is only looking for a willing heart, then His will can be accomplished and the task can be completed.

In the process of this submission and leaning, you will find yourself being drawn closer to your Lord, being set part for His service.  Your spiritual experience will be on a deeper level for you are relying upon Hm more and less on yourself.  The Apostle John refers to this in John 3:30 when he says, "He must become greater, I must become less." This is when our inner joy is experienced and made complete.

Trusting in the Lord at His word requires a willingness to put action into the call.  Joshua and Caleb came out of Canaan saying, Yes, we can overcome this land.  The other ten spies would have nothing to do with the idea.  Consequently they wandered for forty more years when they were only thirteen miles from their destination.  They refused their call.  When Joshua told the priests to put their feet into the River Jordan and begin their walk across the flooded river bed, they did, and the water stopped upstream.  Thus the children of Israel entered Canaan.  They answered the calling on their lives.  God brought them to it and He walked with them to bring them through it.  God will do the same for you.
